Chartwells have implemented a market-leading allergens process and comply with the rules and regulations set out under Natasha’s Law. At Chartwells Schools, every step has been taken to ensure that as many secondary school children as possible can enjoy a school meal safely.
Lunchtime Arrangements
Our lunch and break sittings are as follows:

Free School Meals
If your child is entitled to free school meals then their account will be charged to the value of a free school meal for each day. This means that no student will have to use a different system for free school meals and ensures that they do not feel that they are singled out when using our catering facilities.
Lunchboxes
If your child wishes to bring a packed lunch into school then we urge parents to ensure that it is healthy and meets the recommendations for children’s diets. Fizzy drinks and sweets are discouraged. Healthy snacks will be available for our students.
Water
All students will be actively encouraged to drink water during the day. Students will require a water bottle which is durable and will not leak. Students will be able to fill these bottles during the day.
Paying for school meals
At Hadley Learning Community Secondary, we use ParentPay to provide a convenient and secure way for parents and carers to pay for school meals. This cashless system allows you to top up your child’s meal account online, and pay for school trips and uniform. ParentPay helps reduce cash handling in school, making payments quick, easy, and hassle-free. If you need assistance setting up or managing your ParentPay account, please contact the school office
Cash service
All children at HLC Secondary are given a pin which is linked to lunch money (Reval) machines in school. There are 2 Reval machines which are located in the Secondary Canteen and the Community Reception area. Both cash machines do not accept 1p or 2p’s.
